Excerpts from the Crow & Benjamin Letters

2.4

caw benjamin,

what claims we’ve made
rearrange as sure as
the ground
shakes.

for example the garden, shimmering in moonlight,
littered with shards of glass from our sendoff celebration
—the maiden voyage of the tomatoes—
when we sipped champagne on the bow,

singing praises for
required collaborationism,

we did not notice the sunset entrance of the ants
or suspect they’d soon claim our farm for their own nutritious husbandry

in response to this sub-hostile takeover
i bury my ink
with the seeds with
the mounds of pens.

we grew the crops to feed their insect pets
everyone was sincere.

simply stated,
the crow
